Contributors to the WC MN SBDC

Host Institution - Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State)

The West Central MN Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is grateful to be hosted by Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) not only for the resources M State provides such as financial management of our program, access to technological support, meeting spaces and other key resources, but also for the opportunity for cross pollination between our program and the many student programs and extended learning opportunities the college provides.

These factors collectively ensure that the SBDC can effectively deliver high-quality services to small businesses, fostering economic development and growth in the region.

Donations to the WC MN SBDC

Thank you to our donors for providing key matching dollars to support operational costs.

Regional donations are crucial for the SBDC, providing essential funding and resources to meet matching requirements for federal funds and covering operational costs not funded by federal and state sources. These donations enable the SBDC to develop unique programs, build collaborations, and ensure the sustainability and growth of its services.

If you believe in the value the West Central MN SBDC provides and would like to support the work we do, please contact our Regional Director, Ian Carlstrom to discuss how you can add your support.

Grant Funding to the West Central MN SBDC

Grants from federal sources, such as the SBA, as well as state and local entities, provide essential funding that forms the backbone of SBDC operations. This financial support is vital for maintaining the infrastructure, paying staff, and delivering services to small businesses.

Federal grants require matching funds, which means that for every federal dollar received, the SBDC must secure an equivalent amount from non-federal sources. This requirement helps ensure that SBDCs have diverse funding sources and community support. Grants support various programmatic activities, including consulting, training, and access to information.

Grants are indispensable for SBDC operations, enabling centers to fulfill their mission of supporting small businesses and nurturing local economic growth.

The West Central MN SBDC and the Minnesota SBDC Network is a proud part of the Department of Employment and Economic Development in the State of Minnesota. It is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Contact the Minnesota State Community and Technical College or call 218-299-6605.
